Larysa Zomchak, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Cybernetics, Serves as a Lecturer at the Summer School of the European Association for Data Science in Luxembourg

Larysa Zomchak, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Cybernetics at the Faculty of Economics, participated as a lecturer in the 6th Summer School of the European Association for Data Science (EuADS, https://www.euads.org/summer-school-2026/programme/), which took place on July 5–8, 2026, in Luxembourg.

The theme of this year’s school was “Data Science and AI meet Economics.” The program comprised five tutorials delivered by leading experts in the fields of data science, artificial intelligence, and economics:

• Andreas Haupt, Stanford University (USA) Economics in Machine Learning from Human Preferences
• Despoina Makariou, University of St.Gallen (Switzerland), Machine Learning and Data Science for Risk and Insurance
• Massimiliano Marcellino, Bocconi University (Italy): Machine Learning Based Macro-Econometrics
• Larysa Zomchak, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine): Complexity, Chaos, and Machine Learning in Economics: Tools for Understanding Unpredictable Systems
• Behnud Mir Djawadi, Paderborn University (Germany): Human-AI Interaction in Economic Experiments – How AI Systems Shape Human Behaviour.

Larysa Zomchak presented the tutorial “Complexity, Chaos, and Machine Learning in Economics: Tools for Understanding Unpredictable Systems,” which focused on the application of chaos theory, non-linear econometric methods, and machine learning to analyze complex and unpredictable economic systems.

The EuADS Summer School 2026 was hosted by the University of Luxembourg and, this year, took place immediately prior to the International Conference on Economic Modeling and Data Science (ECOMOD 2026, https://ecomod.net/). The event was attended by doctoral students, postdocs, and researchers from various European countries. This year, approximately 30 participants were selected to attend. During the Summer School, the Annual General Assembly of the European Association for Data Science (EuADS) also took place, chaired by Eyke Hüllermeier, Head of the Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany).

The invitation to lecture within this program is a recognition of Larysa Zomchak’s scientific contributions to econometric modeling, non-linear dynamics analysis, and machine learning in economics.
