SHAPING TOMORROW TOGETHER: MANAGEMENT STUDENTS AND FACULTY IN UKRAINIAN-GERMAN DIALOGUE
On March 2–6, 2026, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv hosted the international educational and discussion program “Shaping Tomorrow – Ukrainian-German Dialogue.” The program served as an important platform for interdisciplinary and intercultural knowledge exchange, combining official meetings, тематic lectures, and applied workshops aimed at developing analytical and managerial competencies.
Students of Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Management (Faculty of Economics), along with faculty members of the Department of Management, actively participated in the events.
Within the program, students attended a series of specialized lectures and workshops, including:
- “Disability and Economic Resilience in Countries Under Attack”
(Tarek Carls, doctoral candidate in management, University of St. Gallen (HSG))
Participants explored the relationship between inclusion, psychological safety, and economic resilience, as well as the impact of these factors on organizational innovation in times of crisis. - “From Plan to Pivot: Strategic Business Model Adaptation in Startups”
(Torben Krüper, consultant in Deloitte’s Strategy, Risk & Transactions practice)
The workshop focused on strategic management of startups under uncertainty. Participants analyzed real-world cases and explored approaches to evaluating and transforming business models (pivoting). - “What is Energy Resilience Worth?”
(Mattis Körber, senior expert for energy resilience at the German Energy Agency)
The session addressed the economic aspects of energy resilience and its role in ensuring national security and economic stability.
A separate practical component included the participation of students from the elective course “Startup Management” in business modeling sessions aimed at adapting entrepreneurial ideas to highly uncertain environments. In total, more than 150 students joined the program with organizational and academic support from the Department of Management.
Participation in the program contributed to the development of students’ professional managerial competencies, strategic thinking, analytical skills, and intercultural communication abilities.
The Department of Management expresses its sincere gratitude to the organizers, international partners, and experts who contributed to the implementation of the “Shaping Tomorrow – Ukrainian-German Dialogue” program.
Special thanks are extended to the speakers and moderators — Torben Krüper (Deloitte), Mattis Körber (German Energy Agency), and Tarek Carls (University of St. Gallen (HSG)) — for their professionalism, openness to dialogue, and valuable contribution to practice-oriented education.
Such initiatives represent an important step toward strengthening international academic cooperation, developing joint educational projects, and supporting Ukraine in its transformation and recovery.
