About the Collaboration between Professor of Department of Economy of Ukraine Marianna Kichurchak and Dr Anja Herrmann-Fankhänel from Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany) within DAAD supported joint project “Chemnitz Bridge-Lviv – 2”

On November 8, 2023, Dr Anja Herrmann-Fankhänel from Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany), invited by Professor Marianna Kichurchak of the Department of Economy of Ukraine, held the online lecture “Innovation Systems” for the first-year students of the educational programmes “Accounting, Analysis and Taxation in Business”, “Digital Accounting, Business Consulting and Audit” and “Entrepreneurship, Business Planning and Trade” of the Faculty of Economics at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. These students are currently taking the “Economy of Ukraine” course.

The lecture was organised as part of the joint project between Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and Chemnitz University of Technology, known as “Chemnitz-Lviv Bridge – 2” which is supported by the programme “Ukraine Digital: Ensuring Academic Success in Times of Crisis” by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

During the lecture, students gained valuable insights into the nature of innovation, innovation systems, their types and key actors, and the approaches taken by various countries in developing innovation systems. Dr Anja Herrmann-Fankhänel shared her own experiences of collaborating with the Chemnitz municipality in implementing social innovations to address the challenges of community social development.

Dr Anja Herrmann-Fankhänel has generously provided the presentation for her lecture to be uploaded to the LNU digital e-learning platform. The lecture materials will be integrated into the “Economy of Ukraine” course, aimed at developing the competencies of students to help them understand the nature of innovation-driven development in Ukraine’s economy.
